TIE

Through the Trust for Insuring Educators (TIE) and Forrest T. Jones & Company, MTNA offers a variety of insurance products for members including professional liability insurance with abuse and molestation coverage for educators. TIE is an organization established to bring together educational associations to secure competitive insurance plans and rates.

FLD

This new policy was designed with the independent teacher in mind. It is an insurance program offering general liability insurance as well as abuse and molestation liability for music teachers. The general liability insurance covers incidents if someone gets injured during lessons, for example, an injury sustained from a trip and fall. This contrasts with professional liability insurance which is focused on instruction- or work-related mistakes.

This program offers:

  1. GENERAL LIABILITY: Think of this coverage as a safety net. If someone gets injured during your music lessons, for example an injury sustained from a trip and fall, this insurance can help pay for their medical bills.

  2. ABUSE AND MOLESTATION LIABILITY: This coverage is added to protect you if someone makes a serious accusation against you, saying you did something inappropriate during your music lessons. This insurance helps you defend yourself legally and shows you're innocent if the accusation is false.

  3.  PEACE OF MIND: Overall, this insurance gives you peace of mind. You can focus on teaching music and not worry too much about accidents or untrue accusations.

Two layers of protection—One for accidents and another for very serious situations, making sure you're safe while you teach music.

LIMITS OF COVERAGE: $1,000,000 each occurrence/$3,000,000 general aggregate/$100,000 abuse & molestation insurance (higher abuse & molestation limits available)
